Ahead of Next started with a question I found myself asking after selling the company I had spent more than a decade building: What’s next?
For years, my focus was Blue Corona—building the business, serving customers, developing a team, solving problems, and figuring out how to be the absolute best in our business. Selling the company changed the question from “How do I build this?” to “What do I want to build, learn, and contribute next?”
Ahead of Next is my answer—or at least the place where I’m working on the answer.
I’m spending this chapter advising entrepreneurs, investing in businesses and ideas I believe in, and thinking more deeply about what actually creates durable growth. I’m also exploring something I didn’t spend nearly enough time thinking about while building a company: how business fits into a bigger life.
That’s what you’ll find here. Ideas about entrepreneurship, investing, leadership, growth, and life after an exit. Some will come from things I learned building Blue Corona. Others will come from what I’m learning now.
I don’t have all the answers, but after years of building, making mistakes, changing my mind, and occasionally getting things right, I have plenty of ideas worth exploring.
Welcome to Ahead of Next.
